You need to follow the following instructions and avoid mistakes which most people did and rejected.
Hello, Guy, if you are looking for a research assistantship and try to send an email to the professor. You need to keep in mind the following points. Otherwise, your email will be automatically rejected or it may fall a bad impression on professors.
Most people use a Mail tracking service in order to track the email they send to professors.
While sending emails to professors, my suggestion is to do not use mail-tracking services unless or until you are an expert in using computer and information technology and know exactly what are you doing. Some reasons are:
- The mail tracking application will put its logo and link at the end of the email. The professor will not feel good if he realizes that you are trying to monitor him/her.
- It is quite possible that if the mail tracking system is very fishy then when your professor clicks anywhere on the email, it will open a new window/tab and invite the professor to install it too.
- It may land your email in the SPAM folder because university filters are very aggressive for attachments and web URLs.
The best option is to send a simple email to professor instead of using mail-tracking services. if the professor needs you they will send an email back to you.
